BOF: 3.13

A 65-year-old male presents with a history of headaches and visual disturbance. On examination he has a distinctive facies with prominent supraorbital ridges, a large nose and prognathos. He has thickening of his skin and soft tissues. His hands are large and spade like and his feet too are large. On examination of his visual fields he is noted to have a bitemporal hemianopia.

In this patient daytime somnolence and sleep apnoea could occur due to:

a)     Macroglossia

b)      Prognathos

c)      Thoracic kyphosis

d)     Enlargement of the paranasal sinuses

e)      Goitre
