This website is being developed to help you become a better clinician. We hope it will also help in preparation for postgraduate examinations such as MRCP (UK) part 1 and MRCP (UK) part 2 and the MRCP PACES examinations and other examinations such as MD, DNB and for licensing examinations such as PLAB and USMLE.  The following resources are available at present. They are:

Best of Five ( Single Best Answer, SBA, One Best Answer)

We have provided a selection of multiple choice questions in the  Best Of  Five format ( also known as Single Best Answer , SBA , One Best Answer) . This type of question is commonly used in both undergraduate and postgraduate examinations. It is used in both the MRCP (UK) part 1 and the MRCP (UK) part 2 examinations. In addition licensing examinations such as PLAB and USMLE use similar questions (Single Best Answer , One Best Answer).
Best of five questions and answers have been provided together with a short explanation.
We hope that you will find these best of five questions (single best answer, one best answer) useful in preparation for examinations such as MRCP  part1 and MRCP part 2. We also hope that those taking examinations such as PLAB and USMLE will find these best of five questions (single best answer , one best answer) useful.

We hope that candidates preparing for other postgraduate examinations such as MD, DNB will also find this section useful

MRCP PACES (Preparation for OSCES)

Advice on preparing for the MRCP PACES examination (MRCP PACES preparation, MRCP PACES revision, preparing for MRCP PACES) or how to pass MRCP PACES, preparation for OSCES.

This section will also show you how to extract the maximum benefit from MRCP PACES books, MRCP PACES courses and course materials and MRCP PACES websites. This will increase the benefit of revision for MRCP PACES and will help you to pass MRCP PACES with less difficulty

The same advice may be used for the clinical sections of medical finals and the clinical sections of licensing examinations such as PLAB and USMLE and make it easier to pass these examinations

This advice would also be useful for those appearing for OSCES as the clinical methods and analysis employed in OSCES are the same as the clinical methods and analysis used in PACES (MRCP PACES)

Please use this advice in conjunction with the materials available on the ACES for PACES website

EMQS

We have also included a section on EMQS ( extended matching questions)

EMQS are now widely used in medical finals (MBBS, MBChB) and in licensing examinations such as PLAB and USMLE

We hope you will find this section on EMQS helpful.

OSCE ( OSCEs, OSCES)

Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE, OSCEs, OSCES(is commonly used as a method of skills testing in  many medical schools for medical finals (MBBS, MBChB) and for other years. It is also used in medical licensing examinations such as PLAB and USMLE.

The clinical skills that are required are similar to the skills required for the MRCP PACES examination

A section has been included on OSCE (OSCES, OSCEs)

Medical Revision

We hope to provide short notes on important subjects for quick revision whilst going through the best of five  questions. These notes are available at medicalrevsion.org. Where relevant notes are available a link has been placed with the answers to the best of five questions.

These medical revision notes will be helpful to those undertaking membership examinations of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom MRCP (UK).

They will help in revising for MRCP part 1, MRCP part 2 and the MRCP PACES examination

They will also be helpful for those taking medical finals MBBS, MBChB, USMLE, PLAB, MD, DM, DNB, FCPS
